Eddie Robson was born in York in December 1978; this makes him the youngest of the Shiny Shelf founders and the others despise him for it. He was raised in both York and Buckinghamshire, attended the University of Sheffield, and completed an MA in Creative and Life Writing at Goldsmiths College, University of London, in 2003. He now freelances from Lancaster.
Eddie has written for the BBC Radio comedy shows That Mitchell and Webb Sound, Look Away Now, Recorded For Training Purposes, Newsjack, Tilt and Play and Record. He has also written four episodes of Radio 7’s Doctor Who series, and several other Doctor Who audio plays. For two years he was the producer of the Bernice Summerfield book and audio range, for which he has written four plays. His books include critical volumes on the Coen brothers and film noir, a guide to Doctor Who co-written with fellow Shiny Shelfers Jim and Mark, and an interactive illustrated version of Dracula.
Eddie also writes articles and reviews for SFX and comic strips for Doctor Who Adventures. He’s written for the small-press comic FutureQuake (Click here to download issue #4, featuring his strip ‘The Injuries of Mr Indestructible’ with art by rising star Julia Bax). He writes about football for his own amusement at Middle Class Football Fan. Other credits include the Guardian, Film Review, Filmstar, Computer & Video Games, PlayNation, Official Dreamcast Magazine, Skillz, Death Ray, Cult Times and Starburst.
