A risible B movie that is the nadir of this year’s 80s themed cinema…

‘Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines’ is not a lean, direct action thriller like the first movie. Neither is it a pompous, overlong paean to a mediocre director’s ego like the second.

Few would disagree that the 80s were the golden era for an extinct breed, the non-ironic action film, and of the many muscle-bound, violent macho thrillers to be released in this decade, Predator was one of the best.
